FOUNDER 

Marcello Pautasso

Internationally minded scripted development executive with nearly a decade of experience across UK and US television and film. His work spans comedy and drama, with a particular focus on early-stage development, format creation, and building projects from concept through to market-ready IP.

With a sharp eye for story, talent, and structure, Marcello specialises in identifying ideas with both creative edge and commercial potential. He founded Cut Short Productions to bridge the gap between traditional scripted development and the realities of social-first platforms, creating shows designed to travel, connect with audiences, and scale beyond the feed.

Julian Grass

Social-first strategist specialising in platform-native storytelling, audience growth, and digital distribution. With experience at VaynerMedia, he has developed campaigns and content strategies designed to cut through crowded digital ecosystems and build measurable engagement.

 

At Cut Short Productions, Julian leads platform strategy, creator integrations, and distribution design, ensuring each series is built for the feed from day one. Alongside his strategy work, he is an experienced filmmaker, bringing strong narrative and production insight to the studio’s creative development.

Usha Chauhan

Senior specialist in brand partnerships, licensing, and IP monetisation, with extensive experience advising studios, producers, and brands on how to turn creative ideas into sustainable commercial propositions. Her work spans entertainment, digital media, and consumer-facing brands, with a focus on partnerships that align creative ambition with long-term value.

 

At Cut Short Productions, Usha supports the studio’s commercial strategy, advising on brand collaborations, licensing opportunities, and routes to market for original IP. She works closely with the creative team to ensure partnerships feel culturally fluent, audience-first, and additive to the storytelling, helping shape projects that can scale beyond the screen.
